Phase operator for one-photon quantized field

Based on the quantization of one-photon electromagnetic field described in terms of the Riemann-Silberstein complex vector F, we construct the eigenvector set of F, this set is orthonormal and complete, with which we introduce the phase operator for one-photon state. It is shown that this phase operator manifestly exhibits phase behaviour.

Operator Calculus Approach to Solving Analytic Systems

Solving analytic systems using inversion can be implemented in a variety of ways. One method is to use Lagrange inversion and variations. Here we present a different approach, based on dual vector fields. For a function analytic in a neighborhood of the origin in the complex plane, we associate a vector field and its dual, an operator version of Fourier transform. The construction extends natur...

Operator Calculus Algorithms for Multi-Constrained Paths

Classical approaches to multi-constrained routing problems generally require construction of trees and the use of heuristics to prevent combinatorial explosion. Introduced here is the notion of constrained path algebras and their application to multi-constrained path problems. The inherent combinatorial properties of these algebras make them useful for routing problems by implicitly pruning the...

Monogenic Calculus as an Intertwining Operator

We revise a monogenic calculus for several non-commuting operators, which is defined through group representations. Instead of an algebraic homomorphism we use group covariance. The related notion of joint spectrum and spectral mapping theorem are discussed. The construction is illustrated by a simple example of calculus and joint spectrum of two non-commuting selfadjoint n× n matrices.

Numerical operator calculus in higher dimensions.

When an algorithm in dimension one is extended to dimension d, in nearly every case its computational cost is taken to the power d. This fundamental difficulty is the single greatest impediment to solving many important problems and has been dubbed the curse of dimensionality. For numerical analysis in dimension d, we propose to use a representation for vectors and matrices that generalizes sep...
